How are girls divided?/What ages do you serve?

Girls ages 5 to 18 make up our membership. To best provide an age-appropriate program, we utilize four levels:

Topaz (Early Elementary K-2)

Our youngest members playfully engage in new experiences together, including flock-wide activities such as service projects, outdoor activities, and exploring new skills.

Sapphire (Upper Elementary 3-5)

Upper elementary members continue to enjoy energetic activities and social time while beginning to engage in leadership opportunities serving the flock. As their abilities and skills increase, the girls learn value in compassion for others.

Emerald (Middle 6-8)

Middle school is a time of transition. Girls in this group begin their shift from leader-organized activities to an adult-facilitated, girl-organized program. More outdoor activities at the unit level are offered to allow for deeper discipleship and growth in skills.

Diamond (High 9-12)

Building on the fundamentals of the program, high school age girls have increased leadership opportunities, both within the flock and in their unit. They seek to do challenging activities while enjoying fellowship together and preparing to transition to independent life as an adult.

Squads and Small Groups

In the elementary levels, we further organize into squads to ensure a small group setting that can provide a valuable experience to each girl. Middle and high school girls use a patrol method, wherein they are organized into several smaller groups with girl leadership.

Girls of all ages routinely interact with each other as a part of flock-wide programming as well as in opportunities for peer mentorship.
